soulboy 0
All the shipping options at the post office as far as I know have a max length of 150cm. I want to send a snowboard to the UK but when I check UPS, DHL, Nippon Express etc the price is almost the value of the board. Anyone found a way to cheaply send an item greater than 150cm out of Japan ? Thanks

soubriquet 0
Very droll. You should contact a proper removal/shipping company and send it by sea. They will pack it, put it in a container, and you'll get it when the container has been filled and shipped.
soulboy 0
Sounds like a great idea but who offers this kind of service ? UPS, DHL, Nippon Express etc dont mentiona anything like this. If you ask for a quote its for their normal service which is way to expensive to be worth it,
soubriquet 0
As it's back to the UK, why don't you contact someone from Pickfords UK, or similar, and ask them who their local partner is? If you're in Tokyo, there will certainly be international removalists who will be packing and shipping containers.
midnightcharger2 0
The post is the only one with tight restrictions. UPS and Fedex will ship over 150. I had my 164 board from the states shipped over no problem. A bit more but it covered the duties taxes also. FRANK
soulboy 0
Frank Ryan, thanks for the reply but I know UPS and Fedex will ship it BUT as I mentioned before its too expensive: If I go to the fedex website http://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home?cc=jp&language=en And get a quote from tokyo to UK for 6kg the cost is 36675.00 - the board cost 40000, so its not worth the money ! Am I missing something ? Soubriquet thanks again, ok I will try. What I cant understand tho is why noone adverises this service if its available.
