waitinginnit 0
Just wondering, with the crazy amounts of snow we have had in Hokkuriku recently, many hills now over 4m worth of snow, what is Japan like for dealing with avalanches? When it gets this deep do they start blasting the mountain?
mogski 0
Been in Japan for 7+ winters never heard one blast resound at any resort I have every been too. Many only after large dumps. Spent three days in Utah last year and I can't remember not hearing the blasting happening following the big 1m dump on the third day. There you have it.
FrankBlack 0
Is there any particular reason why?
mogski 0
Because you aren't supposed to ride off the courses.
blinkin'ek 0
Isn't there more involved than that though, safety wise?? ie affecting "normal" runs?
mogski 0
You would think so, but this does not appear to be a concern of the patrol
