brit-gob 9
I got a call fron a guy yesterday at work. He knew my name and number (obviously) and proceeded to say he knew of a "fantastic not to be missed investment opportunity" and he'd like to meet up to chat about it - and "when can we meet"! Forget "are you interested?", straight to "when can we meet to discuss details". Like, yeah right!! When I said no, it was "so do you know of anyone who might be interested?" I felt sorry for the guy in a way, it was so utterly pathetic. And this was a gaijin not some Japanese dude. A friend of mine has recently had almost the same call. Anyone else? scouser 4
Had something similar, but not the question about knowing any friends who might be interested! Cheeky bastard!
kintaro 0
Was it from a Nomura securities broker? Those guys are under tremendous pressure to make sales.
bearded-scientist 0
I'd tell them to go **** themselves or keep them talking for 10 minutes. As scouser said, cheeky bastards.
grungy-gonads 54
I once got a call similar to that and rather than giving up when I said "Er, no.", they continued and started asking me about my money and where I keep it. And then, WHY wasn't I interested in what they were saying. Incredible. It must be pretty soul destroying that kind of thing. Do some people suddenly say oh yes hello stranger here's my cash.
