  4. Can anyone explain why Niseko reported such a large loss of snow (nett -40cm) within 24 hours with about +10cm of new snow?? I don't recall any reports of excessive winds during the past 24hours??? Confused
  5. Awesome feedback thanks guys, this is why snow japan is the best snow forum in the world because of the members like you guys. Once again thanks heaps and if ever on the Gold Coast let me know and I will return any advise needed.
  6. Thanks Native, Yeah I did Rusutsu last year and enjoyed it and I am also doing a day there this year as well, so Kiroro is not worth going to?
  7. During my stay at Niseko I am looking at heading over to Kiroro for a day for a change of scenery. I am trying to find an alternate means of getting to Kiroro rather than getting a bus to Kutchan, then train to Otaru and then bus to Kiroro because I can for see it as a 2-3 hour trip each way. Then I came along Hokkaido Resort Liners however I can't seem to find a website for them, hence find out where in Niseko they depart (I presume the welcome centre) and if and when i do decide to go how do I make reservation? Does anyone have any suggestions or an alternative means of getting there please?
  8. 2Angles I normally stay at Sunroute New Sopporo and I do believe they have some vacancies left and it is about 5 blocks from the festival, however I wouldn't leave it much longer b4 booking

  10. Hey Guys me and my daughter are both in the market for some new undergarments and I have had a look at those UNIQLO gear and it looks pretty good and cheap compared to theiving prices they charge here in OZ. I'm going to Niseko, where's the best place to get my hands on this stuff please? Thanks in advance
  11. Hey there Snowy, I remember hiring my daughter some boots in Shiga Kogen from the hotel we were staying at a few years ago I don't think it was that expensive, however my mate is coming to Niseko with us next week and I was looking at the price of rental gear in Japan vs OZ when you work out the conversion rate of the $ and yen I worked it out to be heaps cheaper hiring here, so we got his gear from SNOWBIZ on the Gold Coast today and they also have a shop in Brissy too. Good Luck. Cheers Dave
  12. Doing it by myself, japanese skills?? I eat sushi thats as far as my skills go. I appreciate your help M8.
  13. Thanks guys for the info, where and how do I book? Should I book now or when I get there?
  14. I came over last year and a friend swayed us to go to Shiga Kogen unfortunately it was pretty bad, we only got 1 descent fall in 12 days. However it was still better than anything I have experienced over here. I took my 12 year old daughter and even she was disappointed, but that might be the youth of today, always wants the best LOL.
  15. In comparison to previous years what are the gossip mungers saying this year is going to do? I'm cruising over mid January, with the falls Niseko has had so far, approx how much snow will be around in mid jan?
  16. Can anybody tell me what the approx return cost is by bus from Niseko to Rusutsu per adult and child aged 12 yrs please? Thanx in advance
  17. Great place to stay SJ I stopped there last year. The hotel and service was good and the food was absolutely brilliant and if a boarder wins the slopes at Kagura were great. Now i just got to wait and see what freebies are coming up for niseko.
  18. I have done Japan a couple of years now, but I'm not probably the one to give my 2 bobs worth on which is the best place but I can give you some tips on getting there. The past couple of years I have used packages and they generally have cost me anywhere from $3100 for 7 days including airfare, accom and lift. However this year I booked through Jetstar to Osaka ($950 return inc tax) + JAL Osaka to Chitose $260 return + accom in Neseko $500 + $500 for lift, total $2250 and this is for 10 days. I saw Jetsar advertising cheap fares to Osaka the other day so they are still offering some cheap fare
