Hi! I'm planning to go to the Snow Festival in Sapporo next month with my 8&10 yr old kids. This will be our first time to Hokkaido, so any info would be much appreciated: 1. Any good hotel near enough to the Festival (logistics with kids can be a challenge)? 2. Will an overnight stay be enough to see most of the kid-friendly statues? 3. Any kid-friendly ski resort near to Sapporo (no skiing, only playing in the snow)? Thanks.

Thanks for the tips. But Prince Hotels are way out of our budget... never heard anyone say that these hotels offer value for money. All we want is snow ... to let the kids wallow in. How is Sapporo in March? There's a 1-night package (plane & hotel w/ breakfast) for about 22,300 each (HIS travel). Is this a good deal?

For my 2 daughters, aged 4 & 6, all we want is to play in the snow. No skiing, no snowboarding, but maybe some sledding. Any suggestions for a good cheap resort near Tokyo? Bus is not recommended (they start squirming in their seats even before the bus starts). And we don't have a car. There was an overnight tour to Hokkaido by HIS Travel for only 19,800 yen. Seems to be a good deal. Any comments?
