Thanks I would appreciate a decent comparison chart I have read reviews about a few different units but most haven't used more than the unit they are reviewing so not really a comparison if you get my drift- 11 replies

Buying a New Board!
Yuki-Uma replied to beowulf's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
In Oz suppliers can suggest a RRP but it's against the law to price fix so it then becomes up to the retailers to set their prices based on the margins they want to achieve & when there is no competition for the product the price will invariably be on the high side. To be honest unless they have increased supply (Jones) you will probably find they get bugger all stock, I had to pre-order mine just to guarantee supply as most retailers in the states last year had little stock of the Hovercrafts check out Jones facebook page & ask the price question there it will be interesting to see -

I'm going to throw out a guess for the Hovercraft from MP @ $625.00 Close mate $649 how can they justify $250 more than the US price. They do have a membership deal where you pay???? $15 and they offer 15% off. So around $566 for it. Tough call I would like to keep it local but you feel like they are shafting you. Seemore I took a random look at 6 of their boards advertised on the website they were all 50-65% above the US price so I took a guess at the middle ground I purchase everything from o/s the few times I've had to buy something local its been way overpriced. -

Seemore they are a thing of beauty Got mine just before Chrissy 2011 from the states mated it with Burton Cartel bindings Went to Shiga & Haukba Feb 2012 best ride & riding I've ever had, not the best snow at either places this time & can't wait for Feb 2013 as I'm starting to plan a Hakkoda trip I have ridden a Burton ride 164 & then a couple of lib tech skunk apes 161's before the Hover The board handles everything ice crud etc with ease & then just excels in freshies . The combination of the Big blunt nose, the setback riding position & the short tail is a work -

Yuki-Uma replied to NECK's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Hey Neck been having some probs uploading the comparsion vids of the same runs onto utube if you search snowpony64 as a user on youtube there is already some vids posted there the ones from the contour have his noggin in the left hand side of the picture no pic adjustments done on those they went up when we were at Shiga, the ones I did last night i changed the brightness setting on my vid & it came up alot clearer so the editing software is probably just as important but I can't get them loaded atm -

I haven't read any reviews on the 1080p's other than the marketing blurbs but the 720p version did alright against a contour ( not sure which version) which my riding buddy has the only down point was the fixed camera lens which has now been changed in the new version I have some of his vision on my lappy I'll edit out my spills & put some up for you to compare -
