  1. Super heavy snowfall here in Roppongi! Whiteout conditions outside the office window.
  2. I would say they are busy fighting fires... H-shares nearly 10% down at one point.
  3. Looks like you had some great snow! So little time, so many resorts to explore...
  4. 14-ML-14827-ML- This topic has been moved to the Trip Reports section of the Forums.

Otherwise I am fairly indescript - thin, pasty, average height white guy with dark hair and English accent.

Next time will try harder, hopefully this weekend if you are around.

Blue sky, sun out and hardly another person in sight...great!! Nice - sounds like it's good in both summer and winter!
  9. If you know of any good deals for shovels and probes over in Hakuba then please do tell me, then I'll finally have completed my basic toolkit (pack/skins/beacon/shovel/probe/bindings).
  10. Thanks! I am winning by one at the moment, but you are catching rapidly...
  11. m-m-m-monoski! You can see a guy monoskiing down a hill and over a pond in North Africa in TGR's Anomaly (I think that's the one it's in). Tsonda, how would you feel about me borrowing your day-counter?

Don't remember the exact name, but they were in the store when I was there. I got them to trim me a set of G3s for just under 18k, not particularly cheap but they did a great job.

  18. I have the dukes but they don't feel that heavy... but I haven't had lots of different bindings so I'm not sure where they really stand. You would have a clearer idea than me I'm afraid!
  19. I'm going to have to find out where those lovely trees are these weekend... They don't look like Happo One, that's for sure...
  20. Hmm, they were 188 as I recall. I suppose it's conceivable that Gotamas in 190 might be heavier... but I am kind of surprised. The guns felt super-heavy to me. Mind you, he was using rental stuff so maybe the binding was excessively heavy? I have never really given any thought to the weight of my Gotamas one way or another, but the moment I picked his up I thought they were pretty burly.
  21. I can certainly agree with that. I went on a guided tour in Niseko and it was great.
  22. In Japan being a guide can sometimes just mean that you decided to call yourself a guide... try to see what experience/qualifications they have beforehand. The extra courage you get from the reassuring presence of a guide might not be a good thing if your faith in his skills isn't justified (obviously not attacking your guide Mamabear, just a general observation).
