  1. was that report on iwanai was from 2002? looks like a fun trip for a day or so if you got bored at hirafu. if they do indeed runs a cat operation from there i'd be in for sure. I've been searching for info on cat operations in hokkaido...not finding a whole lot though. Anyone got any recommendations that would be a good introduction to cat/bakcountry style tours?
  2. trying to find somewhere that would stock burton hifi helmets! have tried all the stores in hirafu that i know of, kutchan we went to boom..nothing left anyone know any other stores or a store in sapporo- going monday or tuesday and how to get there from the station thanks in advance

  4. thats a good indicator of depth, its not that deep near the base of the tree maybe about 50-70cms how big are those trees?
  5. we are flying with australian airlines, and hopefully we will be under 40 kgs between the two of us
  6. my board and bindings weighs in at 5 kgs, board on its own is about 3.5 to 4 kgs, so three boards two sets of bindings should come in about 14, boots are about 1 each so thats 18, plus two kilos for a bag then another case with all the outerwear and gear
  7. Quote: Originally posted by NPM: Banjobi, who told you you need a board 10cm longer than usual? its regularly put into guides about riding in japan here in australia! i figured maybe if it was crazy deep
  8. i ride an uninc 156 and my wife a feelgood 152, our friend is lending us an uninc 158 to bring also. will these lengths be ok for the powder and riding the park/groomers? i hear a lot about having a board 10cms longer than your normal ride, but is it all hype? can we enjoy the pow and still ride everywhere without going too huge? our plan is for me to ride the 158 and my wife the 156 and she then trade down for the park to the 56 and 52
  9. http://www.hakuba47.co.jp/e/ by the looks of it hakuba 47 has a decent park and pipe with hips, rails, tables and a few boxes looks pretty good compared to perisher or thredbo here in oz
