my friend is part of hakuba mountain rescue and various other mountain things, probably one of the most experienced alpinists/rockclimbers in japan - they were doing mountain guide exams or something up there... they went up before it opened to ANYONE, skis or no skis - i'll get more details and let you know. -

fjef - that sounds awesome - i'm exporting it now - there was no direct export to quicktime, only a folder or application called "movies" on my mac - ehhh i'll see if that works, its doing it now. will let you know! -
Ramen sounds good - we can melt snow to cook it in, instead of carrying a ton of water up. Is that possible in terms of the water being safe from snow? Is there a lodge nearby where we are going to camp, like at Tateyama... or just lodges on the hike in?? Add to your list - small first aid kit. Should we take two-way radios?? Would that be necessary??

Sorry yeh i didnt hike for 4 hours - i think we hiked for about 1hr 30 or 2 hours? Maybe it took me 2 hours. I have some absolutely epic pictures of when we broke out of the clouds... just a sea of cloud below us the all the mountains above - unbelievable. Toque - i have a question, is that past Happo ike?? I couldnt work it out in the cloud.

I have some of the line - a ton of the boys in all sorts of poses (looks like some kind of ski movie on my mac slideshow haha... a ski movie advertising their jackets and goggles or something, rather than crazy riding) - and lot of pics of avi debris. When we were riding the line i didnt have my camera out, just wanted to ski. But i do have some looking back up at our lines.

Sorry dudes - i'm on front of a different computer right now - my photos are on my mac and need to be reduced and i think the pesky internet people cut me off (uhhh ooops) - but i have made a folder called "happozawa for SJ" and will get them up asap - i'll see FT tonight and sort out the size thing, put them on my memory stick and tomorrow post them on SJ.
