  1. It would be a huge achievement for me to be able to turn down chocolate. Everyone in the office knows I'm addicted and they give me chocolate and lollies all the time. So yeah, I don't think I want to give it up completely, but I'd like to be able to function without it. I think my blood sugar takes a dive about an hour after I have lunch, and that's when I start craving chocolate. I'll have to do as 011 does and eat fruit or some yoghurt instead.
  2. This is what is left after three goes with the iron and paper. I think it's time I tried the goo remover/wax remover.
  3. Hehe, it was either that or posting a pic of some weeds in my herb garden. Didn't seem to have the same appeal
  4. It's not actually my lawn... I live in a highrise so I had to steal a photo of someone else's lawn from the internet!
  5. It depends... some days I'll only have a small chocolate, like a Caramello Koala, other days I'll have a full-size chocolate bar. Sometimes, if I happen to miss a meal, I'll go crazy and gorge myself on way too much. Friday night I got home late from work and ate almost an entire packet of Peanut M&Ms. Wasn't feeling too good after that!
  6. That is very true. Eating chocolate/lollies is a good quick fix but definitely not a good long-term energy source. Mind you, dark chocolate keeps me satisfied longer than milk chocolate.
  7. I love chocolate. I usually eat it once a day, and it makes me all hyperactive and giggly. However, after inducing myself into a particularly nasty sugar coma on Friday night, I decided to see if I could break my chocolate addiction. So far I haven't eaten a single piece of chocolate, and it is killing me. I am actually having withdrawal symptoms. Sunday afternoon I started feeling dizzy and nauseous, and today I had the mother of all headaches. At about 2pm, I actually began sweating for no apparent reason. I am very close to giving up and eating one of the mini kit kats in the fr
  8. How long have you had it? You should definitely get it looked at... it's probably a sign that your shoes are too tight (?).
  9. Wow, you guys are handy! Tsondaboy, thanks, I will add that to my list of things to try. I'm hopefull that at least one of them will work!
  10. Someone at work just suggested that - we have a version here in Aus called "Goo Remover". I'm worried it might strip the colour out of the carpet though. Will check it out!
  11. I had all four of mine out a couple of years back, wasn't too horrific. I spent most of the time sleeping. Best thing to do is keep the ice packs on your face as much as possible, which reduces bruising/swelling.
  12. Yep we used an iron and baking paper - a little came out but unfortunately most of the wax has sunk deep into the carpet. We're going to keep trying though. Thanks guys!
  13. Crazy huh? Shaving is a pain and salon waxing is ridiculously expensive. I dread to think how much money I've spent on the two over the years.
  14. TimRide, thanks for the link. Might try using the iron and see if it works. Indo, yep, if we can't get it out we'll have to call in the pros. Hopefully I can get the majority out myself though.
  15. I accidentally knocked a candle off the coffee table and now there's purple wax stuck in the dark blue carpet. We tried sponging it out with hot water but there's still a noticable purplish stain. If my apartment manager sees it we'll probably lose our bond Does anyone know how I can get rid of the wax completely or at least make it less noticable?
  16. Ahh... really? Where are you supposed to put the video camera? I guess you put it in a backpack and run a line up to the helmet. Aside from the logistics, it seems like a costly endeavour.
  17. http://www.helmetcamera.com/ ^^^ this might be more suitable than an actual digicam. and cheaper, i would imagine.
  18. Awesome, post a photo of it when you've got it, that'll really annoy the anti-girl squad
  19. Yuck! Guys don't really do that, do they?
  20. So did everyone get what they wanted for Christmas? I didn't end up getting money for a new phone from my parents - instead they bought me a new digital camera, which was even better My favourite present was this handbag which I got from my boyfriend. I've been wanting it for ages and I think it's perhaps the BEST THING EVER:
