  1. I don't care for beer but don't mind those that do unless they are spitting it on me. Capiche?
  2. Pipi island - Thailand. It was soo small that there were no roads or cars. You can walk from one end to the other in 15 minutes. I stayed two nights, sea kayaked and swam with sharks there.
  3. yah, sj4, you guys are runnning a very good site. In fact, the only one I bother with on a daily basis.
  4. It has nothing to do with I think he was British. It was just odd to get the same phone call in a week from two different languages. the thing is, it wasn't telemarketers. there was no other conversation involved. Just a name check.
  5. I am completely paranoid when it comes to my computer business. I do virus sweeps and keep a fire wall in operation 24/7. About a year ago I recieved a couple of very strange phone calls that only increased my paranoia. The first one was a British sounding guy that asked "Are you 'kintaro' (he used my real name)? Very friendly. I said yes,he politley thanked me and hung up. 5 days later, I got the same call from a japanese man. But less politeley he hung up on me after the info he was seeking was received. I immediatley upgraded my security and changed all of my passwords. Not exactly
  6. I don't hate smoker's. Both of my parent's have been smokers for a very long time and we have a good relationship. But I never enjoyed riding in the car with them while they are blazing away on their cigerettes.
  7. Holier than thou is the smoker's attitude! Smoker: "I derive pleasure from this so go fck yourself if it bothers you...and oh yah, when I'm done with this cigerette I'm going to throw my garbage any where I want." Inhale smoke, exhale smoke...now repeat. Sounds like a lot of fun. Ranked right up there with the wits of sniffing glue. I don't care if smoker's smoke in their home's or bars but don't litter and don't bother us non-smoker's when we are enjoying nature!
  8. Pretty much the same things you mentioned. But in addition, -I like wearing slippers(sandles, flip-flops) outdoors and shorts. -Going to the batting center. I stay there for hours. -I love the green of nature. -I like that it's acceptable to mope around in a state of fatigue b/c of the heat. (Natsu bare)? -BBQ's! -I've never worn a wet-suit and probably never will. Summer is about the only time of the year I surf in Japan. -This might be strange but my reggae music sounds better. Reggae in the snow doesn't match. -Fireworks. -Keeping all of the windows open to
  9. A fox and a roo? How well can you get to know them?
  10. Woo hoo? The problem is those that do blow smoke in my face (it's not that infrequent) and the garbage they leave behind everywhere. I came home tonight from a restaurant with super stinky clothes from smokers and my guess is that's b/c the smoke floated on over to my table even though the smokers weren't sitting in front of me blowing smoke in my face (just a guess!) That's what the problem is. My lungs are a little bit dirtier b/c of the smokers. That's the problem. Thank you for not being one of them!
  11. Smokers directly affect YOUR health. Do you think second hand smoke doesn't affect you? Fat people might be annoying to look at to you daver but will not shorten your life expectancy. And for some fat people it's a health disorder. But smoking is alway's a choice. You can't compare the two.
  12. Paul or phil? I've been talking with a guy named phil. Anyways, thanks for the advice. One thing the mall has offered me is free use of their centre stage to have ukulele performers play and advertise my products. My level is still low as a player. I've learned how to tune it and had to re-string it b/c I'm a lefty. So I have that knowledge under my belt. I'm practicing about 3 hours a day now (still, very heta) but as another player told me some day it will just "click." I'm holding my breath for that day. I will be looking for talented players to help me.
  13. 25k is selling an average of 100 uke's per month with $250 per ukulele profit margin but high end uke's have a much higher profit margin and I don't know how fast we can 'move' them! These are net projections, not counting other merchandise. Of course, I haven't tried out this little experiment yet. Maybe 100 uke's per month isn't so easy to sell. I don't know. I just know the foot traffic in the mall, the overhead costs, and what my side of the costs will be for inventory. Demand and what will really be sold is the unknown part of the equation. Risk is actually part of the fun. If it
  14. There is way too much hatred in the world for my taste. Humans are arguably the smartest or stupidest creatures roaming the Earth. But hey, my attitude is make the most of your little corner and live life with a positive attitude. I think the world forgot about the future generations and the consequences of environmental destruction a long time ago. We, as a species are consumptionaholics. But i still think the smart side of us will eventually make the world a better place.
  15. Religion is a crutch. For whatever reason most people need something to believe in. When it get's fanatical it can be scary. But otherwise let's just let the religious go about their business without prejudice. You don't have to answer the door when the mormons or Jehova's come knocking. Tolerance is the key to stopping the fighting and killing in the name of religion. What an oximoron to call yourself 'religious' and fight or kill in the name of it!
  16. TJ02, we do have the funds and probably won't need to be borrowing from a bank. My wife is a Japanese marketing expert. She'll be a huge (and free) asset. Thanks!
  17. For at least the first year I'll be hands on. It'll suck flying off to Guam every Monday morning and returning on Friday night but that's how it's going to have to be. If the project looks good my wife is willing to move. Good advice. Firing your friends is probably not very pleasant.
  18. Sakebomb, thank you for your 2 cents! le spud, I must have misled you, I don't own the mall. When I said "my place" I was refering to the space in the mall I'm considering leasing.
  19. 172 tenants. No, I'm starting up my own retail shop. Sort of a first for me. I've tried b/f in Japan but didn't do very well. So yes, I'm looking for experienced people to provide advice.
  20. Yes, le spud, that is the one. I'm talking 25k US $
  21. brit-bob, that was 2,500,000 yen per month. I was talking about dollars.
