  3. Quote: Originally posted by AK 77: Sorry, HI BAROK. That reminds me, AK, this looks like a good place to hijack this thread, so here goes: One of my friends coming up with me to Hakuba (sort of related to the title since we are coming up a week and a bit later)wants to ask whether Hakuba is a good place to buy Snowboard equipment over the Christmas period. Do they have a good range of quality and are the prices good? Also, she asks specifically whether the brand "32" is available.
  4. Great to hear, Barok. I really want to meet the other guy, besides db, to survive living with Enderzero for half a season. Remember to stay away from sneezing kids and stay healthy this time.
  5. Well, it looks like another good day for the ants at Kiroro. I wonder when they will remove the barrier around the pond though. That pond must have filled in completely by now. In Habuba, the videocam at Happo has shifted it's position. Now I can't see that "We're open" red sign anymore but a better view of the slope. Not that many doing the slopes there, it seems. The visibility is good and there are patches of sunlight getting through today. Similar thing at Goryu. I hope we get more skiers digging in their tracks at the Happo slope. The moguls are hardly forming yet. Not like the Volkwage
  6. Being a mainly on-piste skier, SG, what you say is a spot-on explanation of my thinking.
  7. That's great slow. I prefer your weather forecast more than the yahoo one. Not only does it have more snow, the temperatures are also lower.
  8. Quote: Originally posted by slow: No worries, Markie. The weathernews has snowman almost everyday next week. Really? Which weathernews is that? I am looking at this one and it doesn't say that. Yahoo weather forecast
  9. Fatts. The 4 extra still need to get their air-tickets confirmed. They are only on the wait list now. Tough for them. I told everyone who wanted to come with me to book early and most of them did. I hear that even my $$$friends can't get J-tickets now, first class or not. BTW, Thursday has handed me the console together with a Judge Dredd Super (gun). Not really a light load. I'm gonna want some good ski-tuning services.
  10. 1. Tignes 2. Three Valleys 3. Les Portes du Soleil After some soul searching I myself am surprised that none of the J-resorts make my top three.
  11. This morning, visibility is not very good. I hope that is because it's snowing. Nevertheless, you can see a nice big red "We're open" sign in Happo. Also there are lots of people on the lifts and slopes of Goryu.
  12. First time for me to see people (a lot of them) coming doing the slopes of Happo.
  13. Apologies, soubriquet. Hectic week. Thanks for the nice pic though.
  14. I remember translating that whole map into English for my friends last time we went. I still remember the names of some of the runs: Heavenly View, Steamboat, Football....
  15. My taste for beer is simple. If it's cold, it's good. If it's not it's piss.
  16. I remember that monorail too. It had heated seated and its a good thing the journey was short otherwise there would be lots of fried eggs and sausages.
  17. I remember having dinner at the Italian restaurant with the white piano at Rusutsu. It had a really nice view of the slopes which were lit up and we could see people doing night skiing. I was a very nice setting for a romantic evening. Highly recommended if you are going there as a couple.
  18. Shhh, BP. Quiet and don't wreck my cut from that sale.
  19. Go ahead. Spoil yourself. The best incentive to work hard is to buy something really nice and expensive that you can't afford. Then you have to work hard to pay it off.
  20. Someone just asked me this and I never thought of it before. In Hakuba, can you buy lift tickets using credit cards? Also can you buy train tickets with them?
  21. So that's how ARAI is written in Japanese. I've looked before and never seen it in either Kanji or hiragana.
  22. What do you think, Thursday? Is it ok to check it in?
