  1. I wanted to see if anyone knew of any Japanese produced snowboard videos. I came across a few when I live in Tokyo and now I'm writing a "teaser review" with an international theme. If anyone knows any Japanese based production company's and has their information (website preferably) I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass along the information. Thanks Joshua
  2. Saturday and sunday? When & where are you heading? It could work if you have room still... thanks
  3. I was wondering if anyone might be heading to the mnts(any of them at this point) this sunday or monday(from tokyo) that might have extra room for two? We dont have our boards so its just backpacks with gear... Or even a sat/sun trip? any help/offers would be apprciated. Thanks
  4. I went to habaku47(sp) where it was snowing lightly all weekend. Pretty much soft groomers with knee plus in the seldom ridin trees, from what I could see (due to a low celing) this place has a great potential for inbound terrain. The only thing holding most who want to ride it back, was probably the warnings on the gondala (E&J or mabey it was just E) and the cameras on the lift poles facing the trees... Other than crap rental equipment it was a great weekend.
  5. Snow Hell? Riding by brail, stick to the trees and its great fun… Some of the best riding is done in blizzards… Less tourons - more snow
  6. I had a chance to visite Salsita's and it was definatly worth the price & wait... Good atmosphere, food and drink (pisco sour). Dont forget to try the homemade refried beans as well as the mexican (spanish?)rice. The only down side was the samll portion size, but hey its japan... Thanks for the advice
  7. Most super pipes are 17'-18' with some of the new prototype dragons(there is another name) now doing 20'-22' walls, but these have only been tested at a few select resorts.... I would agree that super pipes have alot more tranny for "begginer" pipe riders but I don't think they should be there (makes for a very dangerous situation) until they get a good grasp on the ways of the normal pipe.... Been in J-land for 2 months and still the only riding I've done is mexican snowboarding (standing on a sled) at the local dry hill in the public..
  8. Does anyone know of any good mexican resturants in Tokyo?
  9. Its not fun until you can see the dirt, rocks and grass your riding over...
  10. I partake once once and a while....however I do not have any gear here...
  11. Deebee, manipulating you back foot like that would only cause you problems when incountering other riding (weight distrabution)situations. There is however cants on the market which elevate at a selectable angle either foot and are mainly reserved for plate setups where the boot binding combo is to stiff to allow leg flex and knee movement. Just keep practicing exspecialy in the morning on the courtery (sp) when can look back and analize your line.....and in no time you'll be carving like a euro... If you want any info on cants feel free to email me.
  12. I just had the pleasure of riding the seasons first man made base... The 200+m of snow included multiple whale backs as well as a 20' mailboax and picnic table... Once the weather warmed a local celeb fest ensuied with kids breaking them selves jibbing for the cameras....good old nor-cal. I dont know why I'm writting this, but its probably the fact that come next thursday I will be in the urban jungle of tokyo for at least a month before I can ride... Anyways it was FUN!
  13. Your tendons(in the arch) are firing to much, usually a sign of no arch support (foot bed) or a a boot that is two big. You might want to have a boot fitter look at your foot to determin if your boot is too big and how your arch might be affecting the situation.
  14. there fun, you can even flip and spin off them....intentionally or unintentionally
