  1. 'Ello Elsie, Sorry to disappoint you but I don't do that number. I sing "Dem a loot dem a shoot, at Shantytown" instead.
  2. Oi rache you big tease, are you not going to mail me and remind me of who you are? poxfroth@yahoo.com
  3. Hey badmigraine, I've had that 'syncing' feeling when the good lookin' tart peels out of line after 30 minutes of careful timing. Serves us right for not 'living in the moment' eh? And I've also smashed into snowbanks from looking the wrong way. Coolio!
  4. The only good kit I've got is my board - Airwalk Champ 169. Well, my Lavance full-face helmet in furious red isn't bad either.
  5. Well cal, you must be very practised at laughing off being wrong... Got your extra long range specs on in Tokyo have you? "What a stupid wanker" as we English say.
  6. Graham, I had the same thing, only they would've felt the best if they had been the right size. What size did you get and where did you get them? Did you see anything above a Japanese size 29?
  7. Kalua and whisky blend. Sweet with a bite. Or ruby port. Offer the flask to the OL first. Ignore the bucho.
  8. 7-11, are we perhaps related? We seem to have the same surname. What's your password?
  9. mogski, you're right about that. Checked out Rei but they only have a very small selection. Looks like it'll have to be a trip to Tokyo. Thanks anyway. Last year there was more available online, but now the big outlets all seem to be using the same 'service' supplier - click on 'Help' and exactly the same page comes up saying 'no intl. shipping at the moment' or some such nonsense. I hate that 'at the moment', same as the 'konkai ha...' that they say in Japan, that makes you think that if you'd just wait till tomorrow, they'd relax their tight ring-piece and everything would be OK. If som
  10. 'Stop this nonsense' Well, it's only nonsense if a snowboarding trip to Hakuba is a major undertaking involving a lot of time and expense. Otherwise, a cloud like that (that sometimes opens enough to show gleaming white mountain - I bin watchin' from my window) bodes very well for some leisurely suberi on Saturday morning on the upper reaches. Hakuba's an easy drive from Suwa. What are you doing this weekend?
  11. Damn! No stepins at all at Big Deal. Anybody got any other favourite online stores to recommend? Or failing that any stores in Tokyo with big sized stepins?
  12. barok, does press so hard with your hoof, you'll get double postings.
  13. If you wanted to twiddle Nagano Prefecture around evenly, you'd put a big pin in the middle of Lake Suwa. The hell where Suwa is is in the middle of Nagano, and a good deal less hellish than where you live calvin. Checked out your link ol' son, and you see that big swathe of cloud hanging over that ther' mountain? Guess what's going on underneath that. (Hint: I said it was snowing in Suwa this morning.) Nice and warm in Tokyo is it? Hi rache! I'm not Rod, I'm Liar. Who are you? Have we met? My 'not sure if I quite want to blow my cover yet' email is poxfroth@yahoo.com. Drop me a line
  14. It snowed in Suwa this morning, and the whole Hakuba range still appears to be under thick snow clouds. Looks like there musta been some dumping going on, even though it's not showing up in any reports on this site. Yet?
  15. Ronie, Thanks! I used to have this URL, indeed have spent hours searching for it, but evil forces leeched it from my okiniiri folder and my Yahoo companion for their own dark purposes. Can you believe that? This seems to be about the only big shop left with intl. shipping.
  16. Can anybody recommend a good online snowboarding shop with international shipping? That means one that doesn't have just 2 types of boot one each of size 5 and 12, and a pair of trouser which is sold out if you email them. Specifically I'm looking to get a pair of Vans X-compatible boots in a size 10. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
  17. Oops, looks like I overlooked the issue of the snow that doesn't fall. Won't find much in Shiga to be sure... Looks like they just had a big fire in Den-den town. http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content=news&cat=1&id=181658
  18. This may seem like flame attractant (hey, that Ocean11 ain't got no friends!) but I can't see the point of going snowboarding in a herd. Whenever there's a discussion about stepins versus straps, there's always a comment arguing against stepins that goes "but you've got to wait for your buds anyway". Why? What's the advantage of having 'buds' who keep you hanging around, want your attention, ride across the back of your board, fall in a heap in front of you and other oafish behaviour? There's nothing better than getting away from everybody and just listening to the swish of the board and
  19. Teege Apparently it takes roughly 2 1/2 hr from Kansai Airport to Shiga station in Shiga, the station for Biwako Valley resort. You can check out times and routes using this site; http://www.jnavi.eki-net.com/cgi-bin/jreast/jreast.cgi Looks like you'd be pushing it to get there and back in time.
  20. I don't even know why I'm bothering answering this...guess I'm just interested in the challenge. You may be able to make it up to somewhere in Hyogo or Shiga. Do you read and write Japanese? If you do, I may be able to find you a Japan Railways site where you can check the timetables online to see if you can actually make it. Or if you want to rentacar, you can easily make it. Depends on your budget. Anyways, it's gonna cost ya. Let me know...
  21. helen! HELEN! You're going in the WRONG DIRECTION! Gotta go North! There's no snow in Okinawa. (Check out http://www.ryuoo.com, RyuoNOW for some nice looking snow pics - more forecast this week. Things are looking up, and you don't have flog all the way up to Hokkers.)
  22. Seen a_lot_of the Japanese kids riding duckfoot, for the groomies and for tricks. They look comfortable with it.
  23. Hohoho. That cal and helen, theys got themselves a home LAN methinks, check 'em out. "Hey helen, look at this dick picking on the poor guys at SJG. Let's make him pay!" "Yeah cal, let's do our worst this time!" Trying to rein in my nasty flaming habits picked up on another Japan board...not doing too well I guess... Keep us chuckling rob gell, what the hell.
  24. Naggers for me. cal and helen, are you joined at the hip or what?
