I think we have surely heard enough of the "dickhead" calling in this and the other related thread, so can we please avoid it.

We'll still be here me jane! You never know, the chat box might suddenly turn itself on every now and again for short bursts... You have a good summer too. Perhaps this thread will turn into the "chat" thread over the next few weeks.

CHATBOX CLOSED FOR SUMMER, BUT FORUMS ONLINE AS NORMAL Just to let you all know that the chatbox will be turned off for a number of weeks over the summer period. This doesn't mean that there won't be any moderators around, just that we will not be on hand possibly as much as usual. The Forums will be open as usual - just without the chatbox. The chatbox was only introduced in April this year but has quickly become a popular part of the Forums. But for these few weeks if you can just remember how things were before the chatbox appeared, hopefully we can all get through it ok. If y

So it's not a case of you not winning and so deciding to take down all your photos from SJ then? Would you have to take a photo down even if you did submit it somewhere else? I'm just a little confused perhaps I just read the thread wrong I think just thought it rather curious that photos would be taken down from SJ if they didn't win a competition..... About the competition. We will not be making the final decision - the people donating the prizes will. Also there will be no names, no usernames, no comments, no hints whatsoever with the photos when they are looked at - so -

A little confused with a comment above - are photos going to be taken down from SJ for some reason once the photo contest results are announced? (And what might that reason be?) The results will most likely be in September. -
(Hi me jane, I've merged the topics)

Next Season - Coming Up...
SnowJapan replied to skidaisuki's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
During the snow season - well, last season I had about 15 days on the snow. We're a different kind of busy during winter season... updates, daily info, more activity on the site/forums in general etc. At the moment it is a much more "controlled" busy, but going well. -

Yes! And we need about another 3+ months to do our work! -
Well you didn't turn up SirJib!

Pub? No, still working - from home. I have just turned it on for you for a bit, so use it will you? Of course it is turned off at night (and we usually keep it on until late evening or sometimes late night) but perhaps a nightshift thread is called for.

Hi rach something like that happened to me not too long ago. For some reason my computer was thinking it was an English keyboard... check the keyboard settings and if it is set to English then update the drivers to a Japanese keyboard (106/109 keys?) Hope that helps. I was driving myself mad for hours trying to find a solution on this one.

I do not intend to go into the fine details of what you are arguing over. However we have had no direct complaints from any party about this thread and after a quick look over things it seems to me that the "slagging" is not completely one-sided. If the people involved want to continue their discussions on who said what please do it off the forums. Or contact us directly if you feel strongly about it. Don't do it here, it is only causing further aggravation to the situation. Let's get this thread on topic please. Thank you.

The post that we deleted last night consisted of the following one word: Gay Other than perhaps to yourself, a one word response with a word like that only comes across as either simply insulting or as sarcasm. Given what happened in another thread, it seemed like a direct comeback to another member (miller). We don't want posts like that on these Forums. Thanks.

I think you should complain! Though I would be surprised to hear if some people actually use the Forums from work...

Good thread SirJib - lets hope it goes better than the last one. (There were things going on that are not apparent by just looking at the other closed thread as it stands now). Be bummed at the people who caused the problem, not us please. Anyway for me - I started skiing when I hadn't even heard of anything called snowboarding. It looked like fun and my parents took me to France on a skiing holiday. I was hooked.
