  1. Good to know - though she isn't quite up to intermediate yet. I think I need to pay for a few lessons; she only listens to me so much. She's a good hiker but as a boarder she is rather squeamish of any steepness, and knows I won't push her if she cries. Its one of those things where she'd do it for a person she didn't know in order to save herself the embarassment but just gets lazy with me.... Lawdy. I'm trying to find accomodations, and depending on how the ticket situation works out I may just try out Happo, Goryu, and perhaps one other. Thanks for the info, guys.
  2. I've decided to go to the Hakuba area Dec 23-25 with the wife. Its interesting to hear the complaints about Happo and 47. I am not a park rat, either. Freeride. Wife is newbie. Three days though, we don't have to go to the same park. That early in the season, should I shop around over those three days? Sounds like people like Cortina and Tsugaike as well. Would Happo be bad for a newbie?
  3. Selling it in Japanese would be the only real market for it. If you wait for the season (now, or a couple months ago), you MIGHT get a painful but acceptable price at a second-hand store. I just sold a 2004 (2004!!!) custom for 1800yen, wohoo. i was just glad i didnt have to pay to get rid of it. the attached bindings (2010) got me closer to 7k, not bad for almost no effort. tl;dr second-hand store is the only way to get rid of something quickly
  4. I'm not sure where you live, but given how Japan works, 15 man is not much. Id say, they really do like you. Think of it this way; its within their legal power to charge you for each individual piece of damage. Of course in reality they'll pay some guy who will do it all together for a certain amount much less; but the landlord can charge you a lot, its true. A small scuff can be several man. So, I'd say you got off pretty easy. I paid 50man to move into my apartment this April. That was "Super-kun" rates apparently (it normally would have been more). We scoured the apartment before signin
