  1. In winter you ski over it and the pond has already featured on this site
  2. No to above I thought this would be easy, as it's proving a bit hard I'll give a clue
  3. I really enjoy this thread, so I'll take up DiGriz's offer to keep things ticking along So where is this from
  4. I thought the rules were it had to be of a skijo? A number of the first photos in this thread weren't of skijo's, but all had snow in them and were locations snowjapan members would travel though to get to skijo's.
  5. With a JR pass you could also go to Kyoto, an easy day trip from Osaka (approx 40 minutes on rapid express), there are plenty of temples worth visiting. The covered shops there are also a great place to spend time people watching. Another trip out of Osaka worth doing is Himeji castle. One of the few wooden ones left. In Osaka there's the ferris wheel on top of the Hep5 building, check out the icecream shop on the top floor. The escalater to the top of the Umeda Sky Building is worth a ride, and the view from the top is very good.
  6. After being in India for a few months some of the more western foods in Nepal often made me let my guard down a bit, so I sometimes ate things and at places I would have avoided in India. Hence the trotts (Disclaimer, all my visits to the Indian sub contient took place in late eighties, early nineties. I have been told the places have changed remarkably since)
  7. I've been to India 6 times, and never once made it though a stay without getting the trotts. But it only lasts a day or so, and as I was always there for an extended period a couple of days by the toilet didn't ruin the trip. However the worst case I got was actually in Nepal, ended up at the medical clinic, Doctor though it was great. I maxed out every test they had, and dr was able to keep a heap of samples. A couple of pills and I was right as rain, although a couple of kgs lighter for a day or so. (Great food in Nepal, even better beer)
