  1. You completely had that one and only an hour after me. If you want to post the next pic it's yours (I had the previous). If not, I will post something.
  2. This is a really weird storm. Kawaba is +30cm and Kagura is +0cm. They really aren't that far apart! Unless something has yet to be reported that is really strange.
  3. I like my snowshoes but have also never used a split board. Are split boards much easier? Or is it just the fact that you are not carrying your snowboard?
  4. Only about 1cm on the ground were I live, but (I'm pretty sure) the mountains in Gunma got a lot of snow last night. Might be more of the heavy stuff but at this point in the season coverage is coverage right?
  5. And we have a winner. You get the fabulous prize of posting the next photo. The mountain is Kurumayama and the area is Kirigamine, which is one of Japan's 100 famous mountains. I hiked up in early December, but I would love to check out the views at this place on a cold clear winter day.
  6. I think I'll post three pics together. Maybe it will help. Once again I will take the mountain/place name or the name of the skijo. This is the original. See the snow makers? Three other skijos and some pretty big mountains. The 1st, 3rd and 5th tallest mountains in Japan are in this photo (Though the mountains slightly in front of them might look more impressive). I hope that helps.
  7. All four pics where taken just above the top of a skijo. I would also take the name of the place / mountain.
  8. I think I've been to the bottom of the ski resort during winter vacation. My plan was to climb the mountain, but the road was closed so I drove around to the ski resort. I didn't even know it was shut down. From what I saw there might be some nice open former runs to ride down. If you pick the right day the weather shouldn't be an issue. The resort would definitely be safer than the top but if you go, still be careful. Good luck!
  9. Thanks. Maybe I'll write a short trip report after someone gets it
  10. This was the first photo. Here is another angle. Yet another angle. Taken with a significant zoom.
  11. This maybe hard. If nobody gets it by tomorrow I'll post the view in the opposite direction.
