In any given season is there usually one place that beats the others to it for opening early? Would be interested to know where usually opens early - with real snow that is.

We are looking at sometime in January or February. Waiting on friends time off work etc to get down to some real planning but hope to have it all sorted by the end of October.

Just been the once here in Australia but looking towards a few weeks in Japan in either January or February.

Hi everyone A friend sent me a link to this last night as she knows we were originally thinking of visiting Japan next winter but wary because of what has gone on. Fabulous information, it really does make the situation clear and it's fantastic to hear from the people who live in those areas. Certainly put my mind at easy. It was getting difficult to know what the situation was now and lots of things that you don't know whether to believe or not. Thank you!
