Great little read thanks for sharing so glad you are ok! -
These guys wouldve have been in this area whether Goryu was tracked out or not. The area in question is a local hotspot for legal trees at Goryu all be it outside of the resort. The patrol will even tell you how to get into that area if you ask them. You do have a chance to ski onto or very near a big open face as the enterance to the trees gets narrow at the top. If you go too far skiers left youll be in the no go zone. Both of these areas are avalanche terrain all be it one area is slightly safer than another. Second on the day in question there was plenty of Powder everywhere and still snow

From my knowledge yes. Skied out the 47 exit to a SAR team hunting for a skier missing off of Happofrom Saturday. Sunday the lifts were delayed to let SAR have a look around or so ive been told. The SAR team asked if we had seen a guy with a green jacket. We dug a pit found our results to be misleading and skied a safe line down to a save pillow line. The helicopter flew our us a few times.

A 2 meter probe is a bit useless really. You will never plunge the probe to 2meters maybe 1.5 meters so it is much better to go longer. Hakuba and most of Nagano at the moment have problems in the snowpack at or around 1 meter deep. Happo has a missing Skier it was so deep from friday to Saturady so who knows where he is.

Getting airbag filled

Yep the snowpulse seems the way to go but the BCA seems the best option at the moment. I would say that the beacon before that pack any day of the week. -

The bag is useless if you dont buy all the other gear first. BCA is the only model in Japan right now 90000 yen for the pack. -
Building here is a bit more expensive but if you know what you are trying to build you can reduce costs. The Local rules in Hakuba would be similar to those in Hokkaido. Your roof has to be 4 meters away from the edge of your land. Also look into the build laws of the area. for example. Can you build on 40% of the land or 60% or maybe 80% etc. After that how much are you allowed to build. Can you build 60% over your land size or 200%. For example if you by a 200 square meter block and you have a 60% build law you can only build a 120square meter house. For Hokkaido you'll need good insulation
