  1. Yes I board, I go Heli boarding in NZ, not that that means much but I like to get into it is what I'm saying. I'm definitely not full hetic pro, not even what I would say is advanced, just intermediate. Like the tree runs off piste, love the intermediate runs and I'll go most blacks but that varies where you go too as some black runs would be intermediate at best and others are a bit how ya going. I've have had a go at park but not the big stuff and no pipe, I had a bad motorbike accident a few years ago broke both my legs but thats not the bad bit, I've stuffed my knee with no PCL, a stretche
  2. Forecast is looking tops for Niseko and Colorado!! Hakuba don't look so good to me in the next few days, getting snow now but looks like the warm weather is going to put a dampener on things in the coming days.. Thats unfortunate!! Im not sure if Aspen is any good but the forecast there looks great! temps staying nice and cold, lots of snow on the way and falling now with very light winds. maybe Colorado might win this time? I really love Japan and the snow there, it's gonna be a hard decision but will make it by tomorrow and book in, I can always go Japan next year if I dont this year a
  3. Colorado is in the rockies and not so far from Utah right, just seen that the forecast is looking quite favourable. Maybe I should go there in the next few days? need to sus the accommodation and transport situation there though, still thinking if I should go Japan from there? might just leave it open and see how the weather is faring.. Got no record, for the record. I do like guns though, clay shooting!!
  4. I was thinking if I went to the US, I'd go Utah coz there are a few resorts there all quite close within 5k's pretty much and Utah looks like it's got more snow atm. Everyone carries on about Utah and Niseko for powder. I guess I should try if I go Japan go to Hakuba as I've been Niseko, I will leave booking flights n all till a few days out before I go when the weather is looking good. I hope Hakuba is not a let down over Niseko.. Hmm? I was thinking also, maybe go Utah first for a week then fly to Hakuba for a week then back home from there. I'd have to work out the flights and so on,
  5. Here's the thing, I've never seen a snow website with so much information and and Japan has so many good choices. As good as that is, it's also very bad, in the sense that there is no real clear answer as to which area could be singled out as the winner. they're all winners but which would be place to go if you would 'hypothetically' not be able to go back again.. I am thinking Hakuba, in particular Hakuba Goryu but still not 100%. I'm considering this area as I presume from some of the reviews I read it wont be as busy as Happo-One, not busy is on the check list, night riding is on the c
  6. Hi Guys, I have been reading a bunch of very helpful reviews on different resorts still no conclusion on which I should visit?? I was wondering if some passionate enthusiasts could leave me with 2, maybe no more than 3 options.. It would be much appreciated. Considering going this Feb for bout two weeks, also tossing up if I should even go Utah in the states..? I have been to Niseko before and loved it! Tree runs, with amazing deep dry powder, night riding with the mountain practically to myself!! I'm considering just going back there. I board and am no hero, just love riding,
  7. Hi guy, If anyone's interested I have a great video heliboarding NZ in Jul this year, just PM me and I'll send you a link. Looking forward to Niseko in Febuary!!

Hope I can do an even better one next time!

This is why I wanted the helmet cam but I'll wait till I can get it a bit cheaper, 5K is better spent on another trip... We had some real good days, very lucky to have that great end of season dump we got. I got

  11. I know I should probably just leave this as lost property but eh, maybe the moderator can move this post or start a new thread titled lost property. Haven't got the camera back yet but am posting this quick video, a brief look at our time in Niseko, if your interested..
  12. yeah heaps awesome news! definitely a card but duno what else yet?
  13. Ok I don't believe this.. The maintenance guys actually found my brothers camera after they went over the run with the grooming machine!! thats just unbelievable!!! So so lucky!! They called my brother today and told him they will send it over. Credit card details were sent for postage of course but we owe those guys big time, don't know how to repay them, will have to think of something, Legends! JA, nothing in my PM'S mate.
  14. Thanks for the well wishes, yeah I didn't see any L&F thread but yeah it's a good idea if you have lost some stuff, ppl who read this might keep it in mind if they come across something or go by somewhere you may have misplaced your gear and keep an eye out. Not that you'd wana be unlucky enough to end up on this thread in the first place. Still had a good trip though, fingers crossed a bush walker stumbles across it in summer.
  15. I have reported this to the lost property at the Ski (ticket) office and my hotel, they have our details but I`ll put this up in hope just incase. If any one has found an OLYMUS sliver camera, the shock proof, water proof, small pocket size model, please let me know. I know its a remote chance of finding it, especially when it was lost on the holiday run!! My brother recons it fell out of his pocket in the flat area just before you go down and around the front of the half pipe. Dont care so much for the camera but the pictures were of the whole trip. Would have been fine if we lost i
  16. Man That sucks! I thought they were further advanced in technology than most, but now I guess it appears not, how deceptive. They still make great TV's though and great cars, how strange. I wanted to take them for obvious reasons, mainly my brother who is coming along will be miles behind me, I don't particularly fancy yelling out at the top of my lungs or spending a small fortune on phone calls, if there is reception that is, just to stay in touch. So much easier with the two way! I had no idea they weren't permitted, so lucky I found out before I took them, that wouldn't have been
  17. what the hell is that supposed to mean? A proper answer would be much appreciated. I'm sure that if not being allowed to use two ways in the resort is true..? Then it may have something to do with them interfering with perhaps their medical rescue or staff radio, or something along those lines. I don't care how stupid this question is or seams to be, If I knew what the go was I wouldn't be asking. If I have to I will call smart traveller in Aus but I'm sure there are enough people on here that would know the answer to this anyway.
  18. Ok so I heard 'Australian' two ways are not permitted but Japanese ones are Ok? Whats the go with that, I have two uniden radios they're made in Japan, would that be Ok? Anyone..?
  19. I wanted to take my two ways but someone said your not allowed to used two ways on the resorts? Is that true??
  20. Unless you have a hard shell suit case that would be worse. They generally chuck your suit cases around and take a little more care with sporting equipment luggage. maybe I should get some foam cut to shape for my helmet and pack it in my board bag. If they break it then, well I'll just buy a new one and claim it on insurance.
  21. I've been told it's not such a good idea to pack your helmet in your snowboard bag for obvious reasons, would most of you agree with that?
  22. Wont cost that much in Japan, they are apparently selling for around 2K in the US which is around 1400 in your country. Plus the products price will vary quite a bit with different retailers selling the same product with different margins. I brought my HDR SR12 for 1500 AUD and most other retailers were advertising form 1800 to 2200. I guess I don't have to worry wether or not they have it, if they are selling it in the UK. I'd love to get a bargain on it but I would pay full price for it, it's a great product and will get much use. I don't suspect it will cost more than 3K AUD, It's a camera
  23. Anyone been into the big Sony store in Tokyo..? (Recently) I want to Know if the camera I'm talking about is there or not? It's the full HD sony helmet cam as mentioned at the start of this thread.
  24. I'm with Rob on this one. Hey I will need a half day ticket on March 19th Niseko, two actually. If anyone has a ticket/s for that day and they will be flying back, cant go etc.. would be much appreciated if you keep me in mind.
