  1. Thanks Seemore. iphone.. I'm not sure how to take that? I used a 5DMKII with a 70-200 and a 16-35.
  2. Thanks guys! Nothing serious of course, but yeah it's not bad for amateur, if I do say so lol I had fun thats the main reason.
  3. Part of my experience.. If you haven't been to Japan, this should give you a good little sneak peak at what you're likely to find.
  4. Never went to the MTV Jam in NZ, I was staying there in Terrace Downs when they came and had to go find a room else where coz they booked the whole place out. I been to the one in Australia and I duno bout gangsters, seemed pretty casual like Japan. Must have been a NZ thing..?
  5. A little bit late but hey I got back on the 6th of march and I've been busy... ENJOY!
  6. Im cancelling my return flights and staying another week!!!!!!
  7. TB, I believe you, and your right about the more to like for sure. Jynxx, dont think I could have said it better. I'm laughing right now. It's puke'n snow in Niseko and Im so glad I came!!! Had a night on the pow, n, now, time to get a couple hours sleep and get up early and lay some feshies tomorrow, YAY!!!
  8. PP, Yeah Ive always wanted to ride one of those boards, no doubt I will if we have a pow day. does anyone know where to buy these online? Good ones at that.. Might get one next NZ heli trip. TB, I'll add that to the very very, small list of things i dont like about Japan... the other thing on that list is when they crank up the speakers beyond recognition through distortion on the ski lifts, so both japanese and english transmissions are inaudible. this doesnt happen everywhere mind you but cant think of anywhere else that utilize their PA system so much.
  9. Ok so I guess I copped it after that post but I`m a board rider who has their own board and 'never' had to ask about rentals for either board or ski so how would I know that's the norm in Japan or anywhere.. Oh and if it is that's just crap! This is my second trip to Japan TB. PP, I couldn't care less what girl does if we had a powder day I'm gone.. I know what your saying bout the rental place, I never had a go at the kids there, just thinking to myself how unbelievable. Someones offering to pay you money and you turn them away, great business practice that. Chriselle, I though
  10. Snow expected tonight and tomorrow it says moderate so hopefully..? fingers crossed!! Its hard when your GF is just starting and you spend half your day or more on the beginner slopes.. Wish I could have had one of those couples trips where the boys could head off and have fun on the slopes and leave the girls to hang out and read mags if they get tired of trying... oh well. Anyway, if anyone in Niseko is in the same situation let me know maybe we can go ride and the Girls can hang out.. Word of advice though stay away from the ski school at the bottom of the family run in Hirafu, th

  12. I did get that BM, but I`m not gonna go there.. Uncle steves sounds like it woulda been betta than where we went tonight, should waited a bit longer to get some replies instead of rushing off to 'Hie', great Wagyu but very small servings.
  13. Well I have had probably the best steak ever at the side hill in Hakuba the other night.. who has a suggestion for tonight??
  14. I had some bad timing with the weather for my stay in Hakuba but, the time I did spend here was fun and the place is very beautiful and definitely worth comming to again. It doesn't matter where you go unless you book your trip a few days before at the latest, your gonna be taking a gamble with the weather. I booked this trip just over week before I came copped rain and warm weather. Had a great view of the fireworks at Happo last night from my hotel room, the full moon and clear skies lit up the mountain, pretty spectacular! Looking forward to Niseko tommorow!

After a decent snowfall, groomers are pretty much EVERYWHERE at most Japanese resorts I have been to are good. The problem seems to be that there ain't a deep layer of fresh snow since
  16. Dude, I know but seriously you can go heli in NZ for $80 AUD a run and get fresh lines every time, I've had waist deep pow there before. Backcountry= very good but also equals no heli which = lots of walking... hmmm. $450 I duno, anyway you should you head down to NZ go methven heli in methven NZ, if you got the time you should definitely check it out, best heli in NZ hands down!!
  17. Sounds good to me but my GF's a beginner and I want her to at least get into the powder even if she doesn't get much, still better than the ice roads here. I did see some pow at the top of 47/Goru but fenced off trees. I believe there is some here if you know where to look but yeah, it's not just me I'm thinking of.. back country is out of the question for her. It's gonna be 1400 return and what ever I spend on a hotel, so I'm looking at hotels and trying to find something.

  20. I went to Happo today, Vis was real poor up top but there was new snow on crust up there. midway was pretty much ice with some dust on it and down low there was some heavy wet snow. I only got two runs in coz I got there late, I think it was 4 - 4:30 and I only went on the far left of the mountain if your looking up at it, sorry not sure what it's called but you get the idea anyway. I'm sure there may have been a few stashes for those in the know but not me, first time here.
  21. wish I could smile about the conditions... Never again am I booking a snow trip more than a week in advance!
  22. Dust on crust in Hakuba, should brought my ice skates... Anyone over in Niseko.. how's it over there? gonna see if I can book a flight there tomorrow.
  23. In Hakuba now.. great weather... Not!! Man, looks like my powder days in Japan are a next year away... only here for a week, shoulda brought my beach towel and sunscreen, damn warm weather!
