I'll only chip in here to say I can't wait. 3 metres in Niseko will be an enjoyable experience, and judging by the forecasts the last week of Jan looks awesome, no wet snow, just the light and fluffy stuff.

First went snowboarding in 1996, then after many years chasing surf, picked up the snowboard again last winter in NZ. Am now hooked and will be in Japan next week, planning Canada next year, and where-ever the snow is good after that.

Mon 26th is Australia Day - so we'll have beer! BEER: It's not just for breakfast anymore

Group of us arriving same week, 1 or 2 in our group on return visits, so familiar with the area. Those of us on first visit are intermediate boarders, but those returning are more advanced & said they would take us off piste [Nothing beats the trees apparently!?] The more the merrier I say, as long as you don't mind hanging with us aussies.
