  1. Yes...that frigging steep hill right behind the house here freaks me out the most.
  2. Ya...there were certainly a lot of evacuation warnings here, too. More than usual. I get the wife, kid and dog looking at me with "those eyes" of... "our lives are in your hands with your decision to stay or go to a shelter." Stressful for sure!!
  3. Very very nice!! I love Aussie trailers.... The LandCruisers of the trailer world.. That's my mid-life crisis wet dream right there...!!
  4. Strange that the foreign media seems to be making a bigger deal out of it than the local weather birds. Yahoo news has a cool photo of it from the space station. It does in fact look pretty ominous. BM....still pretty flat right now though.. Might be like #18 where you'll get swell over on your side rather than here.
  5. Nice ride you traded in...although I wouldn't call a $100K+... 200 Series "Mr Practical"... Stinkbug is a reference to an unbalanced lift where the ass end sticks up higher than the front. BUT, hauling gear or loading the hitch with a big trailer requires a bit more spring in the rear. I was wondering what you might be pulling .... Do post up some pics of the entire rig when you get it..
  6. Hey Pies....I'm just downloading the drama series...Under The Dome.. Surely, you've seen it, right?
  7. I remember growing up with all the talk about the Black Widow spiders....coolest spider name BTW..... but like the Africanized Killer Bees... we just don't hear about them anymore..
  8. Yamanashi must get some kind of unique deal on panels.
  9. As much as it flies in the face of common sense...there is nothing like the thrill of getting a brand new vehicle. Enjoy..
  10. It's (the typhoon) screwing with my income as one of the years biggest events for us is being cancelled....wife just called with the bad news. BIG revenue down the drain....
  11. Ah...just got some unsavory shit on my plate right now.. Cheers
  12. @GG.......****it......not in the mood
  13. I don't know...I kinda look at insulting someones new vehicle akin to telling a guy to his face that you don't approve of his girlfriends extra large ass when in fact it's what he finds to be her finest asset. Well, I'm looking forward to seeing Big Al's new truck.
  14. 23 and perfect. Not liking the looks of this next typhoon coming though.
  15. So, what's a "satisfactory" car for you GG? I say.. satisfactory ..because vehicle appreciation doesn't seem to be your thing.
  16. Most of them are in fact big hulking horrendous vehicles.. I feel the same way about Ford, Chevy, Dodge and North American Toyotas. The LandCruiser is different though because they really aren't THAT big. No bigger than a Toyota van or El Grande or Alphard.. And "What's the appeal?" is a valid question GG... It's the same thing I ask when I pull up beside someone scrunched into a high end Ferrari or hunched over "hugging a barrel" on a Ducati. I drive a little wee K car during the week and save the LandCruiser for Fridays and the weekend. It's EXACTLY like treating yourself to
  17. Yes...all so impressive.... The elephant in the room though is the equally impressive price tag..
  18. I'm snorked, too Snowjunky.. Ah yes....the two stage 1HDT injectors are a little finicky and I've had mine rebuilt at a pretty hefty cost. Actually, only one was bad but I had all 6 done anyway. Still smokes a lot but that's part of the diesel Cruiser heritage. Ya know, I was going to say that from the first pic it looks like you have a tiny bit of stinkbug but didn't want to mention it as it could be from the camera angle or something. Why lift only the rear?? .. and what lift did you have done? Regardless, Big Pearl is an awesome rig...Cheers
  19. OK....I have to yell this... BASTARD..... EXTREMELY BADASS TWIN TURBO 200 RIG!!!!!!! Welcome to the club Snowjunky. Now you'll end up spending more time at the ih8mud forums and the LCOOL forums than around here. That bull bar looks factory..very interesting. That truck is the pinnacle of cushy light wheeling right there.. You'll be able the cruise those Aussie washboards in comfort at speed. Man,, I'd love to try out the crawl system. Too bad we can't get out for some overlanding together. Oh..and BTW....Chicks dig snorkels..
  20. That's interesting about the winter veggies BM... Thinking about giving it a try. We get so much wind here though I'd thought it would be impossible. I only grew two pepper plants this year as I still have a a freezer full of whole habaneros still. BUT...those two plants were a Devil's tongue (nasty hot yellow pepper) and a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion...the hottest in the world. The Scorpions are so insanely hot ....they are more of a weapon than something you'd actually eat. I harvested the seeds and I'll try growing them next season for the fun of it though.
