By train and public transport

  • 38.8km from Karuizawa Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line

Two train stations on the Agatsuma line are nearby, the main one being Manza Kazawaguchi Station.


Karuizawa Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line is just under 40km from the ski area.

There is no ski area shuttle bus (though there is a free shuttle bus for guests at the base hotel).


Palcall Tsumagoi Resort is about 20 minutes by taxi from Manza Kazawaguchi Station.

By road

  • 49.4km from the Usui Karuizawa IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway

Palcall Tsumagoi Resort is about 33km to the north east of the Ueda Sugadaira IC exit on the Joshinetsu Expressway.


From the Ueda Sugadaira IC exit, turn left onto Route 144 and head up towards Sugadaira. Continue on this road for just under 22km and then turn left onto the Tsumagoi Panorama Line road (the sign mentions Baragi Kogen in English). Continue on this road for just under 8km and then turn left to head up to the ski area.

There is a large car park at the base of the ski area. Parking is free every day of the season.
