Not yet updated

Karuizawa Snow Park is a ski area located in Naganohara Town in the western region of Gunma Prefecture.

This ski area has three pair lifts and is mainly a family-oriented ski area. It has a few children's park areas featuring a large snow-tubing area and a winter dog run for those pets who enjoy the snow.

One ski run is called Cabbage and another is called Egg. There's a Berry too!

The wider facility that comprises the ski area, a resort hotel and golf course used to be known as President Resort Karuizawa.

In autumn 2025 the name was changed to ANA Holiday Inn Resort Karuizawa. The ski area still seems to be retaining the name Karuizawa Snow Park.

Introduction to the region

Gunma Prefecture is located in the northwestern part of the Kanto region on the main island of Honshu. It is one of eight landlocked prefectures in Japan. Gunma is surrounded by Niigata Prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture to the north, Nagano Prefecture to the west, Tochigi Prefecture to the east, and Saitama Prefecture to the south.

The ski areas of Gunma are largely found in the northern region (Minakami Town, Kawaba Village and Katashina Village) and the western region (Kusatsu Town and Tsumagoi Village).

Karuizawa Snow Park is the only ski area currently operating in Naganohara Town. This region of Naganohara is known as Kitakaruizawa. As the name implies, it is north of, and within reasonably easy reach of, Karuizawa Town in Nagano Prefecture.
