The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . We had some blowing winds overnight as well as a bit of fresh but the thing about this morning is the cold. Very cold indeed. Yakebitaiyama are reporting a temperature of -18C! And perhaps surprisingly some blue skies above and I just had to close the blinds on the window as the sun was shining through.... the slopes are looking very inviting this morning. Snowfall is expected - maybe this afternoon or tonight... For now though, wrap up well and enjoy those quiet slopes. It's another fine morning as well here, yesterday was a great day to be on the mountain. Good snow conditions, fantastic views. A real feel good day. Back to mid-winter before the weekend though with some decent snowfall coming. Sounds good to me that....though it is extremely cold! Anyway this morning should be superb with the cold conditions (did I mention it was cold), fresh snow and sun shining down. More sun forecast tomorrow too. The return of snow due late Thursday. Lots more cloud as well this morning, thin and wispy in places, and we should be breaking the pattern of fine weather during the daytime over the next few days. Superb conditions to be enjoyed yesterday but today we are in the middle of a real storm with snow and cold strong wind blowing it all around... not the nicest of conditions to be outside to be honest. In fact you have to be real keen this morning. There's going to be some lift disruptions as well I would think. Dangerous conditions out of the resort areas indeed and real care needed everywhere today (not that that isn't the case on any day of course). Things are due to calm down by tomorrow and we might even get some breaks in the cloud and sun for a day or two, before more snow clouds arrive to the region around Wednesday. Tomorrow should be great though if the weather behaves. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Lots wind-blown snow around this morning after some heavy snow overnight, making it difficult to put a number on. Very cold too and the winter conditions are likely to continue through the day. One thing of note this morning is the snow that has been falling.... really great light snow. Making it easy for the wind to blow it around. But once things calm down a bit (or even now if you brave conditions), should be excellent snow conditions to enjoy. Heavy snow potentially overnight but maybe by tomorrow afternoon it will have eased. More snow on the horizon mid week too, so it's not going to stop anytime soon! The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Hello and it's another cold and snowy morning in Shiga Kogen. We got a few clearer patches yesterday but generally the winter conditions continue, and perhaps getting less so later on in the day today. Interesting comments from the Yokoteyama-Shibutoge resort area... they usually open until towards the end of May of course, but they have mentioned that with more snow than usual this year the season may be longer, perhaps into June. They even mentioned July! Depending on snow of course. Take that as gossip, not 'news'. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . We have some fresh - but rather wet and heavy - snow from overnight to report, with up to 10cm in places too. There was about 7cm on my car this morning. Keeping relatively warm with temperatures trying to nudge just above zero now and probably going to succeed. Cloudy conditions now with limited visibility in places. Weather forecasts for the coming week remain positive for a return to more winter-y conditions so I am looking forward to bringing more news of cold and snow. It's due to hit from around Tuesday. It's cold as well. Can't really ask for much more than that. Some strong winds overnight but this morning it's less stormy like with snow still falling but less wind now. Snow is forecast for today and then maybe some more before the weekend as well. Should be fantastic out this morning. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Morning from Shiga Kogen where we have a bit of snow to report, about 10cm or so in places. Not bad, but we want more. After some wet sleet like snow last night, it is good to see some new snowfall and more is expected with things getting progressively colder and more winter like during the day today. Strong winds will also be a feature of the day we are being told. Indeed even now some lifts are affected by wind most noticeably over at Okushiga Kogen.
