Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 30cm
Snowfall at base this season 556cm

Posted on Sunday 15th February 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Superb conditions to be enjoyed yesterday but today we are in the middle of a real storm with snow and cold strong wind blowing it all around... not the nicest of conditions to be outside to be honest. In fact you have to be real keen this morning. There's going to be some lift disruptions as well I would think.

Dangerous conditions out of the resort areas indeed and real care needed everywhere today (not that that isn't the case on any day of course).

Things are due to calm down by tomorrow and we might even get some breaks in the cloud and sun for a day or two, before more snow clouds arrive to the region around Wednesday.

Tomorrow should be great though if the weather behaves.
