Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 645cm

Posted on Sunday 8th March 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

We have some fresh - but rather wet and heavy - snow from overnight to report, with up to 10cm in places too. There was about 7cm on my car this morning.

Keeping relatively warm with temperatures trying to nudge just above zero now and probably going to succeed.

Cloudy conditions now with limited visibility in places.

Weather forecasts for the coming week remain positive for a return to more winter-y conditions so I am looking forward to bringing more news of cold and snow. It's due to hit from around Tuesday.
