  • Niseko Now: Thursday 25th November 2021

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 31cm Snowfall at base this season 36cm Posted on Thursday 25th November 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here I have excellent news to share! The snow continued yesterday and this morning there is a decent amount of it resting and looking all lovely and fresh. I have just been out and measured just over 30cm. There is more (or less) than that in places, and I'm excited to think how much there might have been up top. And there is more on the way too, probably easing off over the weekend when we might get to see some sunshine. Especially if it remains cold, things are starting to look very positive for a good opening next weekend. ----- Planned opening dates: Niseko Village: Friday 3rd December 2021 Niseko Annupuri: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Grand Hirafu: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Hanazono: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Moiwa: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Now 2021-2022 season Data as of Thursday 25th November 2021 Total snowfall at base so far 36cm Number of days snowfall observed at base 3 days Most snowfall observed in 1 day 31cm (25th November) November 2021 snowfall 36cm reported on 3 days Previous report Next report All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Kutchan/Niseko. • Hakuba Now: Thursday 25th November 2021

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano New snowfall at base 5cm Snowfall at base this season 9cm Posted on Thursday 25th November 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . I have really great news to report this morning. Hakuba 47 have been reporting around 20cm of snow on lower areas and 45cm of snow higher up. Hakuba Happo-one have 67cm as their new snowfall/snow depth number at the Usagidaira area on their official website. I had a walk over to the Sakka area this morning and there was probably around 20cm of snow on the ground over there. I am hearing of around 40cm at Hakuba Iwatake and similar numbers from Tsugaike. How about that then!? :) A quick drive around the town areas shows a layer of snow around base areas, drying up as you head out from town. Hopefully we will get more snow on Saturday and lower areas will remain white, but realistically there is a good chance that we will see the ground again before winter sets in for good. That impressive snowfall on higher areas should stick around and if we can get some more at the weekend I would guess we might see some ski lifts moving fairly soon. For the moment there is a lot of cloud around still but patches of blue sky too and the sun is starting to shine through in places too. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here Morning. And yes, there is more snow to report this morning. It feels colder than it has been, the snow has continued - and I have 3cm to add to the report. It is quite windy and snowing at the moment and we should be getting more over the next few days. Lets hope it steps up a gear. I am going to have some celebration toast now. Not that I need a special event for such a thing, of course, but it feels exciting to have snow on the ground. ----- Planned opening dates: Niseko Village: Friday 3rd December 2021 Niseko Annupuri: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Grand Hirafu: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Hanazono: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Moiwa: Saturday 4th December 2021 Niseko Now 2021-2022 season Data as of Wednesday 24th November 2021 Total snowfall at base so far 5cm Number of days snowfall observed at base 2 days Most snowfall observed in 1 day 3cm (24th November) November 2021 snowfall 5cm reported on 2 days Previous report Next report All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Kutchan/Niseko. • Zao Now: Wednesday 24th November 2021

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata New snowfall at base 15cm Snowfall at base this season 15cm Posted on Wednesday 24th November 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here . It's the last week of November and it is snowing. Stop Press! It is chucking it down with at least 10cms last night and a further 5cm already this morning. This is set to continue into the weekend. It seems that a similar situation is being experienced for the rest of us Up North so exciting to see the slopes all white after close on 7 months (or is this just a test run for the snow gods until the season starts in mid-December?!). In any event, let's hope that this is a good sign of things to come and a great season (and not one peaking early!). FYI, by all accounts, bookings are coming in rapidly for the New Year break so, if you are intending to come to Zao over that period, best hurry and secure the place you want - albeit, with the foreign traffic still not permitted to enter Japan, there will be plenty of places available.
