Today was the planned opening of Furano Ski Resort for winter 2021-22. Unfortunately the snow storm that was needed hasn't come through and the resort is delaying opening until there is more snow.
The good news on the snow front is that there has been 4cm at village level overnight and next week looks promising with daily snow forecast from Wednesday onwards.
It is 0c at 8am and the high will be +3c. It is a beautiful Saturday morning with blue sky, sunshine and the town is covered in a sparkling layer of white.
