The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . ....and better still this morning! 30-40cm of fresh snow on the slopes of Madarao Kogen this morning and I can certainly vouch for around 30cm on the top of my car as well. Nice and light too so easy to move. Very cold as well. Excellent. We officially have a refresh on our hands, folks. Obviously I'm well pleased to be able to report that. Some blue skies above the mountain as well this morning though clouds do seem to be moving in - below are a few photos from earlier and just now. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Madarao is reporting 15-20cm of new snowfall on the slopes and there was definitely over 10cm on the car. Yes, I'd say more like 15cm. It is continuing to snow now and another cold morning. We're back to really nice snow conditions again. Which is great for the weekend as well. A lot of snow is not actually forecast for today - it's supposed to clear up - but back to moderate snowfall tomorrow. Come prepared. It should be a good weekend. Light snow falling at the moment as the mountain is engulfed in cloud (fog?) and there's really not much to see at all. 10cm or so reported by the resort since yesterday and I'd say around that, perhaps more, on the cars at base. Snow/cloud forecast for today and tomorrow, with a chance of conditions clearing, then clearer weather is likely from Tuesday. Fingers crossed it will remain cold this time when it doesn't snow. For now though, very nice conditions to enjoy. As you might have seen on the news, many parts of Japan that don't usually get snowfall were affected by heavy snow yesterday which has disrupted traffic (as well as cause lots of accidents and issues). This may mean that today is less busy here than it would normally be. Keeping nice and cold and it has been changeable conditions this morning so far. For the moment, lovely blue skies above Madarao with just some cloud. A very fine day to be on the mountain. Limited visibility right now as the mountain is covered in cloud and the snow continues to come down. Not the coldest of mornings but it's a day to be prepared for heavy snow conditions, but not heavy in the bad sense. Great quality snow on the ground at the moment. Unfortunately heavy snow is cause tons of traffic problems for lots of people actually getting to north Nagano this morning and probably won't improve during the day.
