The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here. Good morning from Hakuba. With Happo-one closing yesterday afternoon, just three ski areas remain part open from this morning. I have to post my report early and so there's no info updates from the ski areas yet. Weather wise we have a lot of blue sky and some thin cloud this morning. Yesterday it was up to 24C in the village. It might get to be similar today, but perhaps not quite as warm. I'll be back later in the week, or sooner if there is any significant news. Oh by the way, there was indeed a fairly strong earthquake on Saturday afternoon, along with some smaller aftershocks, centered just to the south of Hakuba. I was mid-exercise at the time and didn't actually feel it, and as far as I know it didn't cause any damage. -------------------------------- ABLE Hakuba Goryu Official snow depth: Top: 90cm (as of yesterday) Base: 0cm Current status and planned closing date: All lower areas are now closed Top Alpsdaira section remains open You need to take the gondola back down to base Planned closing date: Wednesday 6th May ------------ Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park Official snow depth: Top: 70cm (as of yesterday) Base: 0cm Current status: All lower runs are now closed The base facilities of Hakuba 47, including the gondola, are closed for the season The upper Route 8 run and Line E lift remain open, but access is only via Hakuba Goryu gondola Planned closing date: Wednesday 6th May ------------ Tsugaike Mountain Resort Official snow depth: Upper: 129cm Base: 0cm Current status: All lower runs are now closed Top area remains open You need to take the gondola back down to base Tsugaike Ropeway planned dates: 25th, 26th, 29th and 30th April Planned closing date: Wednesday 6th May Hakuba Now 2025-2026 season Data as Monday 20th April 2026 Total snowfall at base so far 339cm Number of days snowfall observed at base 47 days Most snowfall observed in 1 day 24cm (on 25th January) November 2025 snowfall 2cm reported on 1 day December 2025 snowfall 98cm reported on 12 days January 2026 snowfall 181cm reported on 22 days February 2026 snowfall 56cm reported on 10 days March 2026 snowfall 2cm reported on 2 days April 2026 snowfall 0cm reported on 0 days Previous report Next report All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Hakuba.
