Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Good morning from Niseko. Hirafu ski area appears to be reporting 'snow' up top, and just cloud down at base (which is what I observe). I can sort of see something falling on that webcam pointing towards Yotei, but it's nothing that is sticking or covering exposed ground. Not right now, anyway. Still, it's cold enough for that to be a thing. The six lifts are all scheduled to be moving as normal this morning. Somewhat warmer conditions are due to return starting from tomorrow. ------------------------------------ Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 215cm (-5cm change since yesterday) Base: 0cm Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Ace Gondola King Number 3 six King Number 4 single * You need to get the Ace Gondola back down to base Courses open (according to official website as of yesterday): Beginners access Shirakaba Large Rinkan Jumbo Dynamic * Center course is closed until 24th April Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------ Niseko Annupuri Kokusai Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 210cm (-10 change since yesterday) Base: 15cm (no change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Annupuri Gondola Jumbo Number 1 quad Jumbo Number 4 pair Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------------------------ Asahigaoka ski area (near Kutchan Station) closed on 8th March. • Niseko Now: Thursday 23rd April 2026

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm A cloudy sort of morning but with some rain expected soon but not long-lasting. Forecasts seem mixed, actually. (Is that some kind of thin snow - or rain - I can see falling on an upper Hirafu webcam? Unconfirmed). There is no news or announcements from ski areas to report as the season winds down. If planned closing dates are able to be reached, we have just under two weeks to go. I must say, it seems impressive - and perhaps somewhat surprising - that the snow depth numbers for both Hirafu and Annupuri are still both over 2m. On this day last year, the official snow depth at Annupuri was actually lower than today (160cm). If you remember, last year Hirafu closed at the end of March as they wanted to start working on their six-pack! ------------------------------------ Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 220cm (no change since yesterday) Base: 0cm Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Ace Gondola King Number 3 six King Number 4 single * You need to get the Ace Gondola back down to base Courses open (according to official website as of yesterday): Beginners access Shirakaba Large Rinkan Jumbo Dynamic * Center course is closed until 24th April Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------ Niseko Annupuri Kokusai Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 220cm (-10 change since yesterday) Base: 15cm (no change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Annupuri Gondola Jumbo Number 1 quad Jumbo Number 4 pair Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------------------------ Asahigaoka ski area (near Kutchan Station) closed on 8th March. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Good morning from Niseko and it's a cloudy and moody feel kind of start to the day. It feels less windy at the start of the day and hopefully lifts will all get going as planned. We do expect some quite windy conditions, though. Beyond today clearer skies are forecast and it actually might be quite chilly until the weekend. • Niseko Now: Tuesday 21st April 2026

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Rain and wind this morning. It's not a pleasant morning. (I can't see any sign of fresh snow on webcams). As of 8:30am, the top lift at Hirafu is 'on hold' and all three lifts at Annupuri are also showing 'on hold'. The ski area seems to be saying it will open if conditions improve. On days like this, as we near the end of the season and there's not many people around, I sometimes wonder if ski areas would prefer to just close up the season rather than battle on until the end. It takes a certain kind of dedication to be eager to be out in these late days, especially when the weather isn't nice. All power to those who do, though! ------------------------------------ Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 225cm (-10cm change since yesterday) Base: 0cm Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Ace Gondola King Number 3 six King Number 4 single * You need to get the Ace Gondola back down to base Courses open (according to official website as of yesterday): Beginners access Shirakaba Large Rinkan Jumbo Dynamic * Center course is closed until 24th April Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------ Niseko Annupuri Kokusai Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 230cm (-5cm change since yesterday) Base: 20cm (no change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Annupuri Gondola Jumbo Number 1 quad Jumbo Number 4 pair Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------------------------ Asahigaoka ski area (near Kutchan Station) closed on 8th March. • Niseko Now: Monday 20th April 2026

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Morning from Niseko. Bright and sunny early on with a noticeable wind. There's blue looking up beyond our mountain with a more hazy scene looking back towards Mt Yotei. It was warm over the weekend, but it looks like temps will be cooler this week. While we have rain forecast for base some forecasts even show the chance of some snow at higher elevations. I would hold on any undue excitement about that, though. The Hirafu official website does show what runs are open every day... but during closed hours, all runs are shown as closed. I can understand a certain logic in that (after all, the runs are closed as I write this report), but it's unhelpful to anyone wondering what runs might be available each day. We basically have to wait until a run opens each morning. And this morning I am off to Sapporo and so I cannot wait until 8:30am when all will be revealed. In my opinion, the logic applied seems... flawed. ------------------------------------ Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 235cm (-5cm change since yesterday) Base: 0cm Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Ace Gondola King Number 3 six King Number 4 single * You need to get the Ace Gondola back down to base Courses open (according to official website as of yesterday): Beginners access Shirakaba Large Rinkan Jumbo Dynamic * Center course is closed until 24th April Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------ Niseko Annupuri Kokusai Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 235cm (no change since yesterday) Base: 20cm (no change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Annupuri Gondola Jumbo Number 1 quad Jumbo Number 4 pair Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------------------------ Asahigaoka ski area (near Kutchan Station) closed on 8th March. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Greetings from a fine and sunny Niseko. It's almost totally clear with just some isolated baby clouds in places, including around the top of Mt Yotei. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Morning from Niseko and I have to be early... It's a bit of a damp, grey, cloudy, foggy kind of morning. Looks like there's very limited visibility up on the mountain. Hopefully it might get a bit brighter (it's expected to). A south westerly wind that might be particularly felt at higher elevations. At 8:30am, the top lift at Hirafu is on hold. I just noticed something ---- the lifts at Annupuri now only open at 9:00am now. I can't wait until then to post my report. Hey, check this out. (A bit of info re: new site). Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Good morning from Niseko. It's a bright morning, though generally more subdued shades rather than the bright blue and sharp whites that characterize clearer days in mid winter. Temps are due to rise to around 15C in the daytime at town level over the next few days. I'm still trying to confirm exactly what courses remain available at Annupuri, but they're not saying. Perhaps it's a secret. I suppose we can guess based on what lifts are open. (Sorry I haven't been over there in the last few days). Let's guessing! 6 lifts remain operating: 3 at Hirafu and 3 at Annupuri. Hopefully we'll enjoy more fine weather over the weekend, though looks like tomorrow might be a bit windy. ------------------------------------ Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 250cm (-15cm change) Base: 5cm (-10cm change) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Ace Gondola King Number 3 six King Number 4 single * You need to get the Ace Gondola back down to base Courses open (according to official website): Beginners access Shirakaba Large Rinkan Jumbo Dynamic * Center course is closed until 24th April Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------ Niseko Annupuri Kokusai Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 245cm (no change since yesterday) Base: 20cm (-10cm change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Annupuri Gondola Jumbo Number 1 quad Jumbo Number 4 pair Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------------------------ Asahigaoka ski area (near Kutchan Station) closed on 8th March. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Good morning from Niseko. Just come back from my morning walk. Hardly anyone around. It's such a big contrast with the busy bustle of the peak season - and really takes a while to get used to every year around this time. Anyway, it's a cloudy/overcast-y kind of morning and... yeah. That's about all I have this morning. Oh, not windy so the 6 lifts that are scheduled to be moving should be ok and on time this morning. ------------------------------------ Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 265cm (-15cm change since yesterday) Base: 15cm (-5cm change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Ace Gondola King Number 3 six King Number 4 single Courses open (according to official website): Beginners access Shirakaba Large Rinkan Jumbo Dynamic * Center course is closed until 24th April Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------ Niseko Annupuri Kokusai Official snow depth (reported by the ski area): Peak: 250cm (no change since yesterday) Base: 30cm (no change since yesterday) Lifts planned to operate (subject to weather): Annupuri Gondola Jumbo Number 1 quad Jumbo Number 4 pair Planned last day of the season: Wednesday 6th May ------------------------------------ Asahigaoka ski area (near Kutchan Station) closed on 8th March. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido New snowfall at base 0cm Snowfall at base this season 878cm Good morning from Niseko. Mt Yotei is modelling a cute collection of summit covering white cloud early this morning. Awwwww. What a beautiful mountain. Beyond that, though, we have almost completely clear and sunny blue skies. Hopefully the six lifts that are scheduled to be open today will be able to do so. Tomorrow is due to be cloudy, but there's clearer skies due again on Thursday. That's all I have this morning.
