Kagura is reporting 5cm of fresh snowfall since yesterday.

Perhaps a little surprising, but we have some blue sky and sun early this morning.

After a week or so with no fresh snow, we had been wondering if we might get some fresh snow this weekend... and we have!

It is a national holiday and, from the looks of things, a lot of people have come to spend the day skiing - some ski areas appear to be particularly busy this morning!

Those early clouds and light snow eased off soon after lifts opened and we gradually got clearer skies and sunshine.

We had some wet snow falling for much of the day yesterday.

We had a largely cloudy day yesterday with some spots of precipitation at times in the afternoon. Nothing major.

A bit of a dusting overnight and with what the light snow from yesterday morning, about 1cm to the report this morning.

First of all, it was a good decision by Iwappara to close that top run due to a large crack forming yesterday, because there was a fairly large avalanche on that top area (Giant course) yesterday.

Snow continued falling on and off in the region through yesterday and into night-time, with another 9cm to add to this report.

We have actually had some decent snowfall overnight and early this morning. (It's not the wet/sleet kind of mix that we got yesterday).

Just a dusting really from yesterday evening and none more overnight. It is a mild morning.

The snow continued until the afternoon yesterday, giving us another 9cm. No more overnight.

So, after all that warmth over the weekend and some spots of rain yesterday (more than spots later at night), this morning we have a nice fresh layer of snow on the ground.
