Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this seas 1239cm

Posted on Saturday 29th March 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

After a week or so with no fresh snow, we had been wondering if we might get some fresh snow this weekend... and we have!

Earlier on, Kagura ski area reported 5cm (though not specifying where that is being measured) and Maiko Snow Resort 3cm.

There is 2-3cm of new snowfall to add to this report (just under 3cm at our own measuring point). It is just above -1C.

This snow will probably ease off by lunchtime and we may even get some clearer skies later in the day. But there's a fair chance of more snow tomorrow!

There is a one-off night skiing opening at GALA Yuzawa tonight with the main Entertainment run scheduled to be open from 5:30pm until 8:00pm. Normal one day lift tickets will be valid, with a special ticket available just for the night skiing. The course will be groomed before opening.
