And here we are on New Years Eve already.

More snow to report as we approach the end of 2017.

More snow to report since yesterday. Kagura are reporting 15-20cm of fresh snowfall while Maiko Snow Resort are reporting 15cm.

We are still enjoying a full-on traditional Yuzawa snow storm, I am happy to report.

Heavy snow (and wind) overnight and as of 8:30am I am measuring 54cm of fresh snowfall. That's Yuzawa-style snowfall!

After that rain in the first part of the day yesterday, happily it turned into snow later on and this morning we have just under 10cm of fresh on the ground.

Good morning from Yuzawa and Merry Christmas.

After the fine sunny weather of yesterday - the sun was out and when I went past the temperature reading by the side of the road in town it was saying +7C degrees.

Clouds did indeed move over Yuzawa yesterday with light snow starting to fall in town by the afternoon.

It snowed throughout the day yesterday and heavily at times. Result: an additional 34cm of snow measured since my last report.

It was a lovely morning yesterday... and then later on... it rained! Grrrr.

After that bumper haul of fresh snow on the ground yesterday, we had a little more snow one and off but it didn't amount to much.

It's a very good morning to you all from here in Yuzawa. Now this is more like it!!

The snow clouds are still over the Niigata region - though they seem to be delivering more snow to the areas north of Yuzawa for the moment.
