Get the cameras out we have an absolute stunner here it Nozawa Onsen this morning!

After yesterdays dump the snow has continued overnight delivering an additional 60cm of powder, much to the delight of everyone in Nozawa.

Epic conditions this morning are only improving now with consistent heavy snowfalls and 50cm of new snow overnight up until now.

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year from Nozawa Onsen. Hope that the powder is deep and you have good times ahead wherever you are.

Woke up to snow falling lightly in the village this morning. Not sure what time it started but we got 10cm out if it up top and a few cm of snowfall down here in the village.

Hard to come down after the awesome day we experienced in Nozawa yesterday. People were rolling down the mountain with grins from ear to ear and powder falling out of every pocket.

Conditions are close on perfect today. We had another 30cm plus fall on us since about 3pm yesterday and it is a magical bluebird day in Nozawa. Quite cold too this morning.

After last seasons epic snow falls we were half hoping we would not get just as much snow this year. Well maybe not.

As a kid you often dream of Santa and snow covered trees and cute little houses. If you woke up in Nozawa this morning you would have been pretty happy!

As promised Nozawa is well and truly covered in snow for Christmas with a huge 40cm dump overnight and still going strong this morning. Yamabiko courses now up to 2m of snow officially.

It started to snow late last night just before going to bed but was a bit wet in town. Wiped about 10cm off the front of the truck this morning and the official report is 20cm up top!

Bit of a buzz in town this weekend as it is the first time that the whole resort is open. Still, pretty quiet though and no lift lines to report!0cm of the white fluffy stuff on our doorstep.

After the "magic foot" two nights we got hit with a "phantom foot" last night with Mother Nature depositing another 30cm of the white fluffy stuff on our doorstep.

It is a beautiful start to the day here in Nozawa Onsen. It snowed for most of the day yesterday and eased into the night, and then we woke up to blue skies and fresh snow on the courses this morning.
