The resort is reporting 20cm of fresh snow across the mountain - with up to 50cm up top on Yamabiko.

Yesterday was an excellent day on the slopes, it really was.

I bring really great news of Nozawa-like heavy snowfall.

Changeable conditions this morning. Light snow earlier on but actually the sun is shining down through the windows here as I write this.

There's fresh snow on the ground. Around 5cm in base areas and 10cm is being reported by the resort up at the top Yamabiko area.

I have good news this morning in the form of 33cm of fresh snowfall on the ground around base and up to 25cm of fresh snow being reported by the resort on the upper areas of the mountain.

Morning from Nozawa and yes, we have some fresh snow on the ground.

There is a light dusting of snowfall on the ground this morning down to base areas and I'm feeling on the generous side this morning and clocking up 1cm on the report.

The snow clouds have stuck with us and the resort is now reporting the following snow depths across the mountain...

Good morning from Nozawa Onsen on this last day of the 2016-2017 season.

Sorry, I'm not in Nozawa this morning so going off reports from a friend and a bit of help from the webcams.

There's quite a lot of cloud around but it feels like it is clearing and indeed sun is on the local forecasts.
