Snowfall at base this season 21cm

Posted on Tuesday 21st November 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Nozawa.

The snow clouds have stuck with us and the resort is now reporting the following snow depths across the mountain:

Yamabiko (1407m): 80cm

Uenotaira (1230m): 60cm

Hikage (660m): 30cm

Nagasaka (615m): 25cm

Karasawa (563m): 5cm

80cm up top. Nice.

Opening on Saturday is surely a certainty.

It has been a blast of winter but somewhat warmer climes are expected tomorrow, and we may get some naughty rain later in the week too - though it should be snow on upper elevations.

Planned opening date for Nozawa Onsen:

Saturday 25th November 2017

Not long now!
