I'm just posting a quick report to let you know about some colder conditions since early morning today and a bit of snow falling around lunchtime.

It's good to be back and it's also good to be getting some cool and sometimes cold weather too.

The brutal heat of summer 2025 seemed to last something like forever (mid-June through mid-September), but it did eventually ease off.

Hurray! Summer is now a memory! It went on and on and on and on.

The 2025-2026 snow season is (hopefully) just less than a month away, with the big ski areas hoping to open at the end of November.

As always, the end of the 2024-2025 ski season back in May seems like a long time ago. But at the same time, it feels like it was about a week ago.

The lift at Yokoteyama will finish up the season tomorrow, Thursday 22nd May.
