Good morning from Shiga Kogen and welcome back to the reports for the 2025-2026 winter season.
It feels like we have suddenly switched into winter mode!
Over 10cm of snow in places by yesterday morning around the central areas of Shiga Kogen. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't closer to 20cm in places. Excellent!
Yokoteyama is hoping to open soon (with the help of artificial snow) and may well be able to. The provisional partial opening date is Saturday 8th November.
I'll let you know when I get confirmation.
Most ski areas are aiming for a mid (onwards) December opening.
