I have fresh snow to report this morning as the planned opening of the ski area approaches.

We have a nice layer of fresh snow on the ground, with more to come through tomorrow.

Hello from a snowy Nozawa. Just how we love it.

With a good amount of fresh snow, Geto Kogen plans to open tomorrow (Friday 5th December).

As noted in an update to the report yesterday, today is officially the first day of the ski season here in Niseko, with Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu part opening.

We had some snow overnight, and more during the day.

The first real snow of the year; that November snow never really counts, because it comes down heavy and wet and pretty deep but it always melts away (we still add it to the annual total, of course).

20+cm of snow on the ground this morning and more forecast before the weekend kicks in.

I am happy to report that we have fresh snow on the ground this cold morning. Decent amount of it too.
