Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 17cm
Snowfall at base this season 19cm

Posted on Thursday 4th December 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

I am happy to report that we have fresh snow on the ground this cold morning. Decent amount of it too.

It started with some rain yesterday turned into snow, and I have just measured 17cm here at base.

Tsugaike Kogen are reporting 30cm up on the mountain.

With more snow due today and tomorrow, we can probably expect a rush of news before the weekend starts.

I'll do my best to try and bring it to you from tomorrow...

For the moment, once the snow eases off, clearer skies and sun are forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
