A mix of cloud and some blue sky early this cold morning. In placed the sun is shining through.

The ski area is reporting up to 35cm of snowfall higher up this morning after a fine and cold day yesterday.

First up, worth noting that yesterday Okushiga Kogen was reporting 50-60cm of fresh snowfall. Nice.

I have 6cm of fresh snow to report this morning and it is snowing as I put this report together.

The first Sunday of the New Year, and frankly I expected more locals to be hitting the slopes. Guess they're still at home enjoying the Holiday.

The sun is out this morning but we should be back to snow by tonight. Even now it seems to be more cloudy than it was a short while ago...

Some more snow since my report yesterday morning along with another 5cm or so overnight, so there's another 9cm to add to this report.

On this last day of the new year holidays for most people, it is snowing lightly with limited visibility out on the mountain and a wind blowing it around.

Only a light dusting of snow since last night, and a sunny day once again.

Quite nice weather this morning actually, with hints of blue sky and some inviting looking slopes.
