We continue to wait on snow with limited operations continuing at Happo-one, 47, Goryu and Tsugaike Kogen.

There's not a whole lot to report this morning - the third day of the season for Happo! A lovely day yesterday with fine blue skies for most of the day.

The lifts are moving, 2013-2014 is on!

After a milder spell of weather, this morning I bring good news from Hakuba with another layer of snow on the ground. There's around 20cm or so fallen by the roads in the valley.

Not a huge amount of snow this morning but a nice cover early on... great to see snow back in the village.

It has been a while since my last report from Hakuba and it has got quite a lot colder since then and the odd bit of snow dusting the tops of the mountains as well.

Yesterday was the last day of the season for the Hakuba Goryu resort opened for the weekend, the day started off with some clouds amongst the mostly blue skies.

Some thin cloud over the mountains but other than that it's lovely sunshine and fine blue skies over Hakuba again, making for a good end to the season

So rain it is then this morning and it feels like it's set in for the morning at least.

It was just cloudy earlier on when I first looked out of the window this morning but rain is falling at the moment.

New snowfall! Contrary to mounting evidence that it is actually 21st April today, we have fresh snow on the ground in Hakuba and as much as 15cm has fallen higher up on the mountains.

It is a colder start to the day today with the temperature in village going down to around +2 degrees overnight.

Today is going to be a fine day I predict. Not only with the weather - lovely clear blue skies - but also the fine new layer of snow.

Some more snow to report from Hakuba this morning. Just a frosting and thin layer in base areas, but more up on the mountains.
