It is a nice looking morning in Furano with no wind, but pretty cold at -8c in the village.

Good morning on a Saturday, and what a great day it is looking. The news today is that the resort has opened another lift.

The rain that was previously on the forecast for today seems to have vanished and instead some light snow is predicted.

It is another day of cold temperatures with -12c at the base of the resort.

The mild temperatures and rain stuck with us all through yesterday but the forecast was bang on for today with a return to negative temperatures and snow.

The snow kept coming yesterday and today's measurement is another 16cm.

The town went through a significant rain event yesterday with rain falling for most of the day on the lower slopes.

Today is one of those days that seems perfect in every way. The resort is surrounded by blue sky with just the odd cloud sitting in the sea of blue.

There was a couple of centimetres of new snow on the ground this morning and it has continued snowing since but not as much as the forecast predicted.

The snow outlook is good for today and tomorrow with heavy snow predicted on the ski area from this evening.

It has turned out to be a warm Sunday here in Furano.

With 11cm of new snow in the village this morning conditions on the mountain are absolutely superb with light powder snow in abundance.

It is a nice day in Furano with mostly clear skies and the sun coming down onto the slopes.
