It sure has felt cold in Furano the last couple of days, but poking my head outside this morning felt particularly cold.

Furano continues to do very well with these early season snow falls with a further 4cm to report this morning.

A few more centimetres of snow have fallen since yesterdays report and we are expecting this light snowfall to continue throughout the week until Saturday.

Sunday turned out to be really warm with temperatures peaking at +9c and light rain falling for the first half of the day.

We are back into a warm spell with the weather and +4c certainly feels toasty compared to the recent freezing temps that we have been getting used to.

There has been some light snow on and off during the day and a total of 5cm has accumulated on the ground.

The weather has snapped back from a warmish spell that brought with it a fair amount of rain and cleaned up most of the snow lying around the village.

We are currently experiencing a blip in the wintery weather here in Furano.

We have more snow to report in this update with a further 4cm accumulating on the ground overnight.

Yesterday the village was pelted by a significant amount of rain, and temperatures rose up to +6c.

Over the last few days Furano has been blessed with significant early season snowfalls.

Although we have had a taste of wintery weather on and off up until now it seems this time the real winter weather has arrived.

Well, it is that time of year where we are in the run up stage to the 2016-17 ski season.

With the spring weather in full force now the landscape has changed from one of pure white to one of vivid green growth in the fields and the colourful pinks of the cherry blossoms. Winter is over!
