Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 96cm

It has turned out to be a warm Sunday here in Furano. The temperature in town is +3c and this has turned the roads into rivers as the snow on the roads melts back to the tar seal. There is a light layer of cloud, so the sun is breaking through and hitting the slopes as well. The good news is there was another dusting if snow overnight and the top of the mountain is sitting just below freezing so the snow up there is safe from the warm temperatures.
