Yesterday the snow was falling for most of the day again though not a huge amount to show for it really. 10cm being reported around resorts since yesterday.
The Kanetsu Expressway was closed all the way from Nerima to Tsukiyono (in northern Gunma) until mid-afternoon yesterday due to the heavy snowfall in the Kanto area on Saturday. That meant that lots of people planning to visit by car on Sunday coming from the south very probably gave up on the idea. From what I saw of the slopes around town, it seemed less busy than usual for a mid season Sunday. Hope you didn't get stuck in traffic and encountered problems due to the weather over the weekend.
OK this morning we have that bit of new snowfall. Half an hour ago the snow had eased off and we even got some blue skies appearing, it looked like we were going to have a fine day. But in the last 10 minutes or so it has clouded over again and snow is once more falling. Snow is indeed forecast for the day. But might the clouds break again? They seem to be in neighbouring regions this morning, so there's definitely a chance.
Clear skies are forecast for tomorrow, which is a national holiday so should see popular places busier than a normal weekday.
After that the next snow even seems to be lined up for around Friday.
